Uluru or Ayers Rock is a gigantic sandstone rock resting on the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia. It is sacred to the Aboriginal people of the area because legend has it that the spirits of creator beings lie within the fissures of the rock. In fact, they discourage people to climb it because not only that they think that is disrespectful to the spirits, they also don’t want accidents to happen on sacred soil. However, if you dare explore this rock, you will find many springs, waterholes, caves and ancient paintings. It is listed as a World Heritage Site and you could almost see the magic of this place because the rock changes color as sunlight shines on it at different times of the day and year.
